PGS Statement
The Company recognised that discrimination is unacceptable and although equality of opportunity has been a long-standing feature of its employment practices and procedures, the Company has made the decision to adopt a format equal opportunities policy. Breaches of the policy will lead to disciplinary proceedings and if appropriate, disciplinary action.
The aim of the policy is to ensure no job application, or employee is discriminated against either directly or indirectly on the grounds or sex, disablement, race, colour, creed, nationality, ethnic\national origin, religious beliefs, political opinion\affiliation, sexual orientation or disability.
The Company will ensure that the policy is circulated to all agencies responsible for its recruitment and a copy of the policy will be made available for all employees and made known to all applications for employment.
The policy will be communicated to all private contractors reminding them of their responsibilities towards the equality of opportunity.
The policy will be implemented in accordance with the appropriate statutory requirements of the Race Relations Act 1976, Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (as amended), and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Full account will be taken of all available guidance, in particular the CRE and EOC codes of practice.
The Company will maintain a neutral working environment in which no worker feels under threat or intimidated because of his/her religious belief or political opinion. This means that the display of flags, emblems, posters, graffiti or the circulation of materials or the articulation of slogans and songs which are likely to give offence or cause apprehension amongst particular groups of employees are prohibited.
